A scrappage scheme that will pay people £400 to replace old boilers with new ones has been announced in Chancellor Alistair Darling's pre-Budget report.

Great news! From April, the Government will offer grants worth up to £400 for 125,000 households with old, < 70 % efficient G-rated boilers to replace them with a new A-rated boiler.

Now, how do I check the rating of my existing boiler?

Hurray, finally something that will actually make a dent in UK CO2 emissions!

Now all they need to do is fix the cause as well as the problem
