Hey all...

Looking to build a mini system to put in my front room and link to my main PC for streaming etc.

Quite like this case: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-001-IM

Very confused, i've looked at the ITX boards none seem to state if they have onboard gfx or not, not sure on the ram or hdd either  Can anyone spec me the rest of the system inc psu etc?

Needs to be wireless, NOT for gaming but good enough to last a while

No board has onboard graphics, but all the Intel CPUs do and the AMD APUs.

If you're only streaming then you could get something cheap and cheerful like an AMD Kabini. That case though doesn't leave much height for a cooler though, and you'd need a Pico PSU and external power brick, which does add to the cost.

Nice case, but I prefer the Streacom F1C Evo for the same money (and the WS version if you don't want the optical drive).

So, what are you streaming exactly?

Well, the full usage would be this:

Streaming Qobuz for music
Netflix for TV & films
Quick internet browsing
Wireless link to my main PC for music & films

So in essence it needs to be a proper mini PC, just doesn't need to play games.

I'd probably go Kabini then. I don't have the BBCode utility to turn shopping carts into links, so you'll have to search through the website yourself to find the bits I'm afraid (and 2 items it looks like you'd have to source elsewhere).

CPU: Athlon 5350 AM1 Kabini - £36
Mobo: Asus AM1I-A Mini ITX - £27
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - £44
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 60GB - £39
Case: Streacom F1C EVO WS - £70 approx (personal preference :p I prefer this over the Impactics you linked)
PSU: Streacom Nano 150W Pico PSU with brick - £78
Cooler: Scythe Kodati Rev B - £20 approx

Total: £314, not including any delivery charges.

Now, OcUK don't have the WS version of the F1C Evo case listed any more, the difference being the WS versions don't have the optical drive slot. Same price though. Also, even though Kabini CPUs are very cool, the stock cooler is still a bit pants so it's nice to have something a bit overkill to keep things nice and cool - the Kodati is only 34mm tall and good for up to 65W TDP, which is plenty for Kabini but if you get it you MUST make sure it's Revision B (SCKDT 1100) because it comes with AM1 mounting, the original does not.

150W Pico PSU is overkill for this system but used the Streacom one as reference for what you'd need. You could save a few quid sourcing 90W PicoPSU with power brick.

Hope this is a starting point for you.
