I have an HTC Hero and a Nokia 6300. The Nokia is unlocked and bombproof. It currently has my old vodafone contract sim in it (due to expire soon), my Hero is on vodafone. the two sim cars differ slightly in appearence but are both USIMS (sim in my 6300 came out of my N95).

BUT if i put the sim from the hero into the 6300, the phone goes all weird. It boots, half loads the main screen and then freezes. Or, it'll load fine and then when you hit menu it shows no items and then freezes. It is annoying as I want to use the 6300 as my 'going out to town' phone as i don't want the hero getting smashed / lost / drowned.

any ideas whats going on here?

Hi GeX,

I've come across a problem like this before and am not sure what would cause this.

Is it still happening? If so, it might be worth getting a replacement contract SIM either from your nearest Vodafone store and calling Customer Services via 191.

Thanks,

Lee
