New smart phone for the mrs: Galaxy Ace 2 Vs HTC One V

The mrs has had enough of her crappy old phone, and i have to get her a smart phone. For around a £10 a month on contract, i have narrowed it down to the mentioned phones, HTC One V or the Galaxy Ace 2.

Would it matter if i went either way? just looking for some advice

I'd go for the Ace 2 as it has a dual core processor, albeit lowly clocked (800MHZ). They're both pretty equal I think.

Had a brief play of my friend's GA2. Was quite impressive for a budget(ish) phone, very responsive.

Consider a Xperia U ?
Went through similar options recently for my wife, and the Xperia U fits the bill nicely - mighty good spec, nice phone and available for sub-£200 SimFree, and pretty sure sub-£10/month contracts.

Got the Ace 2 for £80 on an upgrade for the missus, she loves it coming from an original Desire.

Not sure if I would spend the full 250ish though, would sooner get the Huawei G300

She currently is on a PAYG, and pays around £10 topping up each month. I was considering going the contract route via redemption.

Bearing in mind she currently has a very very old non smart phone. For this reason the ace2 seems to be a good deal, she is not fussed about all the latest gizmos etc, just something that is tried n tested will do.
someone please correct me if ive got this horribly wrong
