Just wondering if it is important/advisable to have the same type of speakers in both the front and rear of the car, or am I going to get some wierd sounds going on?

Basically I have both woofers and tweeters in the front (woofer in door, tweeter in mirror mounting) and coaxial (as far as I can tell) in the rear shelf. I can't find the same ones in both coaxial and component types, so have been looking at different brands in the front and back.

i wouldnt say that the *type* of speaker would make much difference. but i have found while having the std speakers in the front and 6x9 infinity's in the rear that the front just sound **** when the volume is turned up.

if your going to buy new i would buy uprated fronts aswell as rears. aslong as there about the same output power then they should be fine (both keeping up with each other as the volume is turned up).

I would say for best SQ have components in the front and a small sub in the back. You have at the moment dedicated tweeters and mid's, you should just need some low end.

You can get bass specific woofers, which would fit in the parcel shelf, but still need an amp iirc. Depends how much time and money you want to spend.

Components: 70 RMS 240 Max
Coax: 70 RMS 200 Max

Pretty close, so I'm thinking they should be ok together?

I'm not planning on getting an amp straight away, although possibly in the future.

I'm not really after a huge amount of volume, more a decent quality at a reasonable volume =P
