New Star Trek film on the cards

Cant wait, looks like it can be good, Not sure who there going to find to play Kirk and Spock tho.

I hated it when they canceled Enterprise as i actually liked it.

Earlier this year, Next Generation star Patrick Stewart told ITV1's This Morning there was "interest in bringing the Next Generation cast together with actors from different Star Trek series".

That looks like it could be good, Captain Picard meets Janeway :)

I love Trek, but would have loved one good TNG movie. Not to sure about Kirt and Spock in this kind of storyline, and for me Nemoy and Shatner are them, and no one else.

I was hoping for a new movie to either introduce a new crew for a new series or else set just after ST6. I feel as if they're going to make a mess of this new one like they did with Enterprise.

Nemesis was a fine film as well, in fact probably the best TNG movie.

I cant recall a mention anywhere of Spock and Kirk meeting at the academy. Me thinks it may be a leaf out of the "Star Wars" school of continuity :)

Agreed, it would be awful having them played by someone else. A bit upsetting.

They should do a DS9 movie (although that was all pretty well wrapped up in the last series) or they should think up something new and good. And keep Johnathan Frakes away from it.

Just noticed the bit about the MI:III script writers. Oh no.

The trouble is, this wwill be an odd number in the series...

The good old rule of 2 :)

1.Motion Picture - Poor
2.Wrath of Khan - Good
3.Search for Spock - Poor
4.Voyage Home - Good
5.Final Frontier - Poor
6.Undiscovered Country - Good
7.Generations - Poor
8.First Contact - Good
9.Insurrection - Poor
10.Nemesis - Good
11.If it follows the rule of 2 - Poor

Think of the alternative. It would be equally as bad them playing the roles again.

Personally I think they should just let Trek die, and then bury all the evidence of it ever existing. But then again I am biased.

Hang on, i'm not a Trek fan but I watch Trek series as it makes good Sci Fi TV. In anycase I thought the upcomming Trek movie was TNG based. I remember reading an article stating the guy who plays Data refused to come back to it.
Can anyone explain? :)

Getting paid $60K+ for 170ish episode of TNG + $10 million per film + getting too old to play an ageless android = Brent Spiner's desire to play data/B7/lore/soong is all but gone.
