Hi guys, after reading sooo many of these threads I think I've narrowed it down to the following system / compontents, was trying to stay as close to £550 + shipping.

So just before I pull the trigger I'd really appreciate it if some of you techie experts could run your eye over what I've selected ... just in case I've made some school boy error or you spot a better combination for performance v's price.

I use a 1080P monitor and mainly play World of Tanks / ARMA / Starcraft and will want Elite Dangerous to run nice and smooth.

Always had Intel cpu's and thought I'd stick with them due to WOT's current dependence on single core performance.

Thanks guys :)

do you mind buying items 2nd hand?
if not, you could get a much much better system for that budget by getting stuff off the members market

eg: 280x gpu for 130 quid
750w psu for 40 quid
2400mhz ram for 45 quid

if you want it brand new, then:

much of a muchness except i specced a 240gb ssd rather than a 1tb hdd
if storage is not a issue, you'd see much more benefit from a ssd

Thanks Tamzzy, I've bought second hand from the MM before with no hassles but I'm in the mood for everything fresh if you know what I mean :)

I like the spec changes you've made ... that's exactly the type of help I was hoping for, cheers buddy.
