New to me - 'Yank' Jetta GLI

Cheers guys.
This car to me is an everyday car that gets 30mpg and looks pretty smart (and has recaros). I didn't buy it for its track days or anything, just something reliable.
My dad has an F-150 and gets about 14mpg......
Thanks on the house comments lol

Couple of my friends have Alfas in the States - they just look so much prettier (if that's even possible!) without the front number plate.

That's because over here the stupid numberplate ruins the symmetry of the front of the car. It's the one thing that puts me off the front of Alfas.

Cars look so much better without a front number plate. Wish we'd have this over here in Europe.

I'd love to just lose the front plate on the MX5, looks so much nicer without it!

They do have those awful sidemarkers to counteract the lovely lack of a front plate. The sad thing is all MK1 and MK2 MX5s have those gay sidemarkers and a front plate over here :(

Anyway, don't let your son go racing any S2000s at Race Wars, he loses while you're in jail.

Also, is that massive metal thing below the steering wheel just a foot rest or an actual pedal?

Lol, imagine if it was a pedal! That would be crazy. :D

What's the colour of the paint on this car? Looks like quite a nice colour when the sun hits it.

I needed a car in a hurry in February and a Bora TDi popped up. It is certainly nothing special as you say but I really have no issues with them.

Black, 130bhp, 6 gears, 18" rims and good mpg. It isn't a bad set up at all for my requirements for a car.

They are good cars, but you don't live in the home of v8s and cheap petrol

Nowt wrong with Boras OP.

Ignore the philistines on here. ;)

This was the main reason on buying it. My two previous cars (both American!) had engine troubles.
This 'hopefully' will last and gets almost double better mpg than my previous car. Even if petrol is cheap, I'd much prefer to pay $30 a week rather than $60 ;) I can waste my money on other things then :p

My wife has an 04 Jetta GLi VR6 model, nice car, nippy and gets about 25mpg on RON91, bit of a crappy ride but that's the Tucson roads fault.
