Well have been fiddling with my new P1i, and trying to get to grips with it.

I managed to connect it to my wireless, and did a little browsing (slow), went into log and wireless lan said 0 recieved, 0 sent, even though it worked...however, I was wondering if I was perhaps using something else (GPRS etc), anyone know of a setting that forces internet connect to use wireless lan? (worried im racking up minutes etc!)

the web browser isn't that great - is it possible to download something else - I heard opera was good but how do I get it on the phone?

very n00b questions I know but the manual supplied is pretty rubbish

When you're opening a webpage go to the list of connections (the little globe symbol). The one you're transferring data from will have little brackets flashing around it.

I deleted my non-wifi web profile to stop me running up a huge bill as I never plan to browse through it.

My data counter for wi-fi also stays at 0. No idea why.

I don't seem to have opera on this phone, it just goes to a dialogue box with open web page and some symbols, can't see any revolving globe lol

I just checked wlan settings and it has gone up say 0.1Mb so something is happening lol

May i ask how you're finding your P1i? I got a mate who's choosing between that and the HTC Touch for his next phone.

Also, i believe the Opera website have it for dload but for a charge.. i'd copy/paste link if i knew how on an N80 :(

Hi Chiggz

well I found out that the web browser installed is opera but the keyboard shortcuts dont seem to work lol, its quite a learning curve when presented with a phone such as this and coming from a D900.

As for the phone, it does take getting used to. The keypad is bevelled like a small rocker, and after a couple of days I am getting quite a bit faster entering text, I can see how in a couple of weeks it will be very fast. The interface takes getting used to, seems to be a lot more keypresses just to send a simple text message as there is a lot of menus to go through (i still need to see if there are any shortcut things to do).

The phone feels really solid, the screen is pretty cool and I have addded a few themes to make it look how I like - OSX-blue is my fav at moment, a steely blue theme which fits nicely with the black and silver phone.

It all seems very solid and does the job of a phone really well, the call quality is excellent, much better than my samsung. What I do realise is there seems to be a lot of untapped potential that will take me some time to find. The camera is not bad, haven't tried any music or the radio. It uses a proprietary connector so you have to carry around charger, USB connector etc. It does come with a cradle.

All in all im very happy, the first few hours were 'omg what have I got this for', but after a few days im really pleased

wicked.. since i asked, i've seen videos and reviews of the phone and it definitely looks like a real good phone - especially having its own OS and thus the ability to run endless software on it :)

thanks for the reply..
