Hello happy snappers :)

I would like to get into Photography , i have used a digital camera before which was a Fuji 9500 but i found it a bit of a nightmare to use :)

I found the Fuji 3500 a nice camera to use but a bit chunkey to carry around

I have around £300 to spend so i am going to buy a compact snapper , can anyone recomend me a good snapper to start with , not sure how many megapixel to look for , so many to choose from ? your help would be very greatfull

Also what is the best software to use ie Photoshop CS ect

P.S did anyone go and see the start of the Gumball 3000 Rally today in London

Hello!

A great point & shoot is the canon IXUS 850, I have one myself. But as you already have two cameras I would say you should probably focus on getting to grips with them! There's never really a huge difference in quality (of pictures) when using compact cameras so you its really only a matter of picking one that suites you price/size wise.

If you really want to get into photography its good to get a DSLR, you could probably pick up a canon 350d (also very nice and work very well) with a kit lens for about 300, but its an expensive slope because you soon want to add lenses to your collection and these often cost more then the camera!

Photoshop is a great piece of software, and pretty much everyone I know uses it to process their pictures. When you first use it it can seem a bit nightmare ish, there is so much scope for what you can do to your pictures! But it soon becomes familar :)
