New trend...?

Hell it's nothing compared to stretching tyres onto alloys meant for much larger rubber, most retarded thing I've ever seen. Also air suspension it's high up on the retardometer.

Tow straps work work on some cars, they look right to me on the likes of hot hatches. Streched the tyres is my pet hate, I popped into see a friend last week and he was fitting 195 section tyres on a 9J wheel on a bora just so they could clear the arches

Edit not his own car but a customers

Many years ago, taped up headlight lenses used to be worn as a 'track day badge' by many crud box drivers. A few had been on the track and the owner 'forgot' to remove them afterwards, driving around on the roads like it was something that made them cool. Some idiots even taped up their headlights never taking their car anywhere near a track day.

I'm guessing there's an element of this in the fitting of these nylon strops.

Also if you rib them you just get insulted as 'OEM Blinkered' or a 'hater' or something equally erroneous, the abusive ones are quite challenged though

I leave my metal tow eye in at all times, but only because the 10 years of crud in the thread mean that putting it on and taking it of is an absolute mission.

see one cosworth sapphire with a tow strap. must be a trend!

not my sort of thing either but im not going to call people stupid etc for it or get worked up over it. will never understand why people care so much about other peoples cars.
