Currently looking around for a new TV, as my 28" Sony CRT takes up too much space in the living room.

Looking around i've pretty much narrowed it down to the choice of two which are,

Samsung LE32R74BDX - £619.99

Toshiba 32WLT66 - £653.89

Just wondering if anyone on here had one of these tv's and had any info on how good they are as they both look pretty damn good.

It's mainly ging to be used for DVD's and Playing on my 360, but i also have sky for the football so it can't really be cack for football.

Any advice would be much appreciated any alternate suggestions would be welcome but the tosh is pretty much at the top of my budget, so don't go waving 7-8 hundred quid tv's in my face please :)

They're both very good screens with their own pros and cons, and I'm assuming you've alrerady demoed both so you're happy with the picture quality of either one. If not, thats your first thing to do. I've got the samsung le32r72b meself and I can't fault it at all. very good picture quality with very good black levels and detail crispeness. I'd say look at things like connectivity, warranties, wether you like the external appearance (important for the wife).
Like I said, check how many hdmi sockets there are as a lot of screens now come with two as opposed to one, very useful for connecting a sky box and dvd player without having to use a switch box.. Also consider weight if you're gonna wallmount, (here the samsung I reckon wins 'cos its VERY light indeed)
the're both very good screens and its a tough choice although from what I've read, the Tosh 32WLT68 is a blinding screen, but I don't know if that would be higher than your budget, probably would be thinking about it.
Incidentally, theres a thread runniong over on "avforums" regarding the samsung range so if I were you I'd take a look and get some infothere, BUT it is very long.
Hope this helps.

Another very important thing to compare between different LCD screens is there sound quailty...

Many people went buying a new LCD/plasma forget about this and only compare there PQ differnces..

Very good point. The sound from the samsung, while reasonable certainly lacks bass when compared to other screens with bigger cases which mean the manufacturers can instal larger drivers, so giving better (more) bass.

Cheers for the advice guys, decided to plump for the sammy, the sound quality isn't great but for the main thing where i find sound quality important (dvd's) i'll be running that through my amp anyway so sound quality of the tv isn't much of an issue. Soon i shall have my AV amp so will be able to run my 360 through that as well.
