Hi guys

I bought a notebook in 2005 which has lasted me until now and the last desktop I built was in '99 so I'm a bit out of touch with things at the moment! :)

I've got Windows 7 on pre-order and want to build a new system for it. I won't use this computer for playing games just development work. My notebook is now so slow that I can't do any work from home!!

Anyway here's the spec I've come up with for a £750 budget. It includes 2 HDD's for a RAID1 setup. I just want to check I'm not missing anything?

I've got keyboard, mouse, Dell 2709w monitor, and Windows 7 on pre-order.

I would like to swap the case fans and cpu cooler for something quieter but I think it makes sense to see what the noise is like to begin with first?

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. :)

Reygjabla I read that RAID 0+1 requires four disks not three? I can only just afford two as I already cut them down from 1TB drives to 500GB's. :(

By the way, I went for the WD Caviar Green drives as although their a bit more expensive I'm looking for something a bit quieter than WD Caviar Black.
