New York probes 'gas-like odour'

There's no level to which the anti-Labour mob wont stoop though......

You're late to the party Rich_L. Visage kicked this one off 4 hours ago :)

'Police shut down 10 blocks after dozens of birds were found dead in the streets.'

Very very strange

To expand on my earlier posts;

If this had happened on Spetember 10th 2001, no-one would have batted an eyelid. It might have made a 20s clip at the end of News at 10: 'And finally, a mystery smell has made New Yorkers scrunch their noses....'

But in this era of constantly updated threat levels, dire warnings about imminent attacks (that never materialise), we're kept on tenterhooks. Events like todays cause panic, 'BREAKING NEWS' banners on rolling news stations, and a spread of fear - 'What if its dangerous, what if its terrorists?'

All without terrorists lifting a finger. For all politicians talk of standing firm, and not letting them win, its too late. They already have. How often do we hear politicians say 'We wont let them change our way of life'? They already have. We're cowering like scared rats.

So I dont give a monkeys if people are offended by me ridiculing our fear. If/when something happens, I'll be as concerned as anyone else.

But not before.

Got to say I agree with this statement. Good post.

I've been able to smell methane in my apartment all day...but I think it's just me causing it from last nights dinner. I certainly don't think I can cover lower Manhattan and Jersey City \o/

Except there was no panic and no hysteria and no anything regarding this event.
Or perhaps you can point out where it was as the only references I can find linking this to "terrorismists" was from Visage...... how ironic.
