Just been looking through an old CF card and found some unprocessed shots from my trip to NYC last September.

Not processed them all yet, but thought I'd put some up.

All taken hand-held with a Nikon D200 and Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR Lens.

I love the one of the guy in the window. Did you know him or did you just spot him taking a picture of you?

That doesn't look like a real person, more like some kind of blinds.

Well I looked again, looks a bit more realistic after I adjusted the levels :

The background looks gray/false I thought..

No - just saw him taking a pic and thought I'd get one of him doing it!!

Topcat - I couldn't see anything wrong with the background - may be my screen??

It wasn't until after I realised that your picture had an Adobe Colour Workspace and not sRGB etc. From my understanding this may not be displayed correctly on some internet explorers and will appear "washed out". Here's a link that will probably explain it :
