it does sound like one of your hardware seems to have a issue if it still happens with f7 bios disconnect everything and put things back in 1 by 1 till you find the problem

At least you have made some progress

Well I have had this motherboard for about 3 weeks now, so not sure where I stand with returning it. I bought it early in preparation for ivybridge and really wish I hadn't touched it with a barge pole. There is blatant problems with compatibility with ati cards, and the bios will not display as a result. Obviously being an enthusiast with this new 'enthusiast board', I need access to the bios.

Its not the psu that is the problem as previously I was running an z68 with a heavily overclocked i5 2500k and also at one point I had 2 x 7970's in crossfire. I now have this board with a 3570k and only one 7970 to run. Also my psu is this, and set me back around £130 when I bought it. So hardly cheap tat.

I've had no issue with mine and my HD7950. I did have one issue where I couldn't get into the bios after flashing f7 but clearing the cmos fixed that.

thats exactly what im doing now lol

it doesnt affect windows booting. it just buggers about with the bios
at least im typing this from the pc now not my phone!

next problems

cant install mvp because it says i have no igpu!

and the onboard audio is using the hdmi to a monitor and not the digital optical output to a surround system!

thats completely differnt to my problem fella.
have you flashed the bios using the igpu?

Yeah I have updated the bios to the latest version. I have also messed around with loads of the graphics settings in the bios and nothing has worked. Tbh I give up. I have just ordered an MSI Z77A-GD65 and it should be with me tomorrow. I hope I have better luck with the new board.

And this is what happens when I put a different card in.

As you can see the bios boots fine and everything is normal. I genuinely think this board is not compatible with my card.

Are you sure its not you video card thats playing up. Thats the only thing different between your board working and not. Others have the same or similar cards with no issues so points towards the card not MB IMO. Have you tried switching the bios on the videocard out of interest?

Yeah pretty positive its not the card. I just took it from a working system about 2 days ago. The only new additions are the cpu, the cpu cooler and the motherboard. I have a new motherboard arriving tomorrow, so I should find out by then.

right iv now changed EVERYTHING in the pc including the case!
done a watercooled loop and switched on all seemed well for 10 mins then poof off it went again :)
the time taken before it switched off got shorter over the next 10 mins now it doesnt make it to the bios again.
the fault is IDENTICAL to last time.
iv discon all the hdds/dvd and tried every combo of ram with no change
