Nexus 5 2015 refresh

Nexus used to be new specs.

Can say I'm disappointed the Galaxy S6 will no doubt trump it.

Nexus devices have rarely been the 'new' specs. Normally they are comparable or just slightly behind top end for substantially less money. Looks like this will follow that trend. When you factor in that stock android is generally faster and slicker the spec difference is minimal. That being said it wouldn't of hurt to see a bigger battery but can't have everything! Like with all previous nexus devices how good this phone is won't be about its specs rather about the price you pay for those specs.

Thats the Mint version? The leak looks washed out, gave it a bit more colour:

This new nexus better hurry up and be released. In desperate need of a new phone. My current nexus is on its last legs.
Agree the battery could have been bigger. Whats the harm in flushing out the rear case with camera level which woukd have allowed a bit more space for a larger battery.

And being Google they won't have enough stock as usual?
I mean this year if this is a true replacement for the current Nexus 5 and people skipped last year then this release will be in demand.

It is a good point, the joy of having stock android and releases early for updates can sort of mitigate the benchmark scores.

Been using a nexus 5 and absolutely love it. This thread is the first images I have seen of the refresh and the camera style on the back looks to be a turn off.

Hopefully cases will hide it somewhat.

Of the two I'd definitely go for the 6. I have a 5 at the moment and want something bigger, but it's between the Moto X Style, Z5 Premium and Nexus 6, with the Note5 a distant outsider. I'm thinking Z5 Premium at the moment, but it will probably depend on the price, as if it's £650 or something then it will be a no-no - it won't be £200 better than the Moto X Style or Nexus 6 - the chin and forehead on the Sony range really niggle with me, and no wireless charging is baffling.

I'll wait and see though. If it's got a a half decent camera (it doesn't have to be superb, just not Nexus quality) then wireless charging might just tip it in favour of the Nexus 6 over the Moto X.

Is anyone planning on getting the 6 over the 5?

No it's just too big, hence why I didn't get the N6 - however the specs are tempting.

I'm torn between the N5 2015 and the Z5.

The pros of the N5 potentially are the fact it gets pure android and first OTA updates, wireless charging, and significantly cheaper than the Z5. The camera also has OIS which might make it better?

The Z5 I like the quick shoot button on the phone, and the fact that the finger print sensor is on the side not the back - and looks nicer, has more RAM too and is waterproof and has a faster processor.
