*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Tested camera out, used my phone with the new app and GFs with the old, new one is definitely much faster, told her to move around quickly and the new one is always in focus, it seems to take a tiny amount of time to focus then takes the shot extremely fast, compared too the old that was focus then be slow to capture.

Personally like the UI a bit more, was never a fan of that crappy thing when you click and navigate menus with 1 finger, this seems more elegant.

That button is huge though, they could have at least make it transparent :/

It's set up so that the viewfinder shows the whole 4:3 image now, rather than showing 16:9 like before, and not showing you the full picture.

Personally I preferred the other way, but this way does make more sense as you get to see the full image. It's just a bit odd having that much space on screen just doing nothing. Ah well, not a big issue.

Doubtful. Wednesday is always the day Google release their app updates. They released the chrome remote desktop and an updated YouTube app too yesterday.

It'll never be as good as the M8 as it doesn't have the hardware support for it like the M8 does. But for just software, it's not actually that bad.

I doubt I'll ever actually use it, but it's a nice little gimmick none the less.

A very valid point made...I totally forgot about the second camera on the M8. No wonder...I'll let Google off!

I find that in HDR+ mode it's actually a little faster than previous HDR+ in the old camera software.

Pictures as a whole are marginally improved too.

Having looked in the thread I see most people are using the Franco Kernel which seems highly rated, I see a Faux kernel too, is anyone using that?

Also if I use the Wugs toolkit to unlock the boot loader on my nexus 5, can I install the kernel using that tool kit or do I have to do it another way?
