I was torn between this and the G2, but then I went into CPW and had a play with both.
Had to go for the N5, the software for the G2 was absolutely horrid and the curve in the middle of the screen, just why? Both things really put me off, the software felt like I was using some kids phone yeah I know I can replace most things but the menus and all that qslide/qmemo ******** just gets in the way plus im not a big fan of nova/apex.
And the curve, I didnt notice it at first but when I did I didnt like it. Really is a throwback to era of the crt lol.
Shame as the screen was great and the battery life is supposed to be too.
Loved the software on the N5 and speed, CPW had it price tagged £279 I went to pay and they wanted £309 I told the workers about the price and it was £300 on there website but they wouldnt have none of it. Bunch of clowns, well anyway I hope the red N5 comes before friday.
Ordered the Spigen Ultra hybrid bumper case with clear back and red bumper.
Might get the wireless charger, are the charging speeds same as a normal charger?

Are you sure it wasn't a G Flex?
I was thinking the same? what curve on g2?
I would hardly call the Screen "bad" it might not be as good as the S4 or G2 but its up there with the best smartphone screens.
And without rooting it how can I get rid of that horrid drop down menu and the settings/menu screens?

you can disable the qslide bar in the settings. The problem with the nexus screen is the diagonal viewing angles. When you look the screen from top down axis or left right axis its very good, when looking at it diagonally it becomes washed out and almost white-ish. The G2 suffers from this issue too but to a lesser extent. Also the G2 screen has way more contrast.
both suffer from a major drawback, lack of storage- expansion of it via a microSD. Its an instant no go for me and the reason i traded the N5 after 2 weeks, the only drawback of this phone and probably every nexus to date

I woke up to a dead N5 this morning. I've tried all the steps from this page: https://support.google.com/nexus/troubleshooter/3337561 except for 10 hour charge which I'm doing now. It had 70% charge when I left it so I'm pretty sure it's not a fully drained battery that's the issue.
Looks like I need to take a trip to Carphone Warehouse (where I bought the phone) to get it sorted.

no, lol was deffo a G2. The middle section of the screen is ever so slightly raised so when you feel it it slightly sticks out.
Very slight but I definately noticed it.
OOOOH... 'important' apps.

Yes, some of us actually use the phone for important things not just a play toy.
lol as if im gonna use it in the pitch black to watch a movie. All reviews have said the screen is up there with the best although not as good as the top few.
I could see that myself, the S4 and G2 had superior screens but if I wanted to buy a phone just for the screen id get the S4, but the wifes already got that and I dont like the middle button.
I like the original HTC one but it is a bit old now and not much better then my old XZ. Cant justify paying 560 for the new one.
Maybe, I was thinking that I never saw anything about the raised bit in reviews so ill check some more G2's and report back.

That's one that I remember seeing a while back, not sure if there were others or not though.
Overall the screen is great, the only downside with it is the diagonal viewing angels are terrible.

Brought a spigen neo hybrid a while back for when im at work, should have kept it on while out of work
