selling at auction is a complete lottery.

after the hassle i had last time with my nexus 4 which ended up being bought by some foreigner who couldn't speak english or read it wanting a refund because i never sent him an "air phone" I was confused at first then i realised he wanted earphones which neither the nexus 4 or 5 come with.

he could have claimed it was broken, smashed it and sent it back tbh and i couldn't claim for damage as mobiles aren't covered by most if not all couriers (especially royal mail).

he ended up opening a paypal dispute wanting a ridiculous amount of refund because i never sent an "air phone". i think he wanted £30-£40 refund on a nexus 4 he bought for £140ish in mint condition the same week the nexus 5 launched.

i'm going to stick with gumtree and local sales or cash in hand on collection from ebay in future with anything worth over £100.

like i say, someone could hold you to ransom if they know how the system works demanding a refund, or they smash the phone and then post it back to you for a full refund.

Gumtree and meet is a better way I think or sell on MM :D
 
i would try gumtree / MM / Hotdealuk then Ebay before selling to the likes of Mazuma

Ebay is a nightmare but you can cancel bids and block people, i did that for anyone with feedback of under 100.

MM is really good place to try and sell

I like selling on MM however its frustrating when people offer low prices then pull out all the time, last handset I posted I had that twice, part and parcel of selling on there I suppose

Still at least when I do sell I know the funds will appear in my account instantly :D

yeah I keep an eye on this daily, frustrating as I saw the £240 deal when it happened and didn't purchase as I wasn't after a phone at the time. I thought it would signal further drops in price also. If I could get the red around 260 I would probably just buy it

No chance with a Nexus. That there was even an offer is a plus. As a subsidised/marginally priced device any price drops will be minimal. In all likelihood it will retain full value until it is either replaced with the next Nexus device, or it is removed (which is possible/probable with the all-but-confirmed Silver programme coming early in 2015).
 
Just got a spanking mint condition 16gb nexus for £200, including wireless charger, coming from a nexus 4 I do love this phone very much, will root it tonight and install xposed framework.

Can't really comment on any bad points yet, the speaker is one of them though unfortunately, I feel the Nexus 4 speaker was better.

Will definitely get a case this time as my N4 was battered and screen was scratched to hell, any recomendations? I have been looking at Spigen cases and the official Nexus 5 bumper:

Looks like they are, I'm going for the bright red one, apparently they get dirty really easily and you can't clean it :(

So my N5 had an encounter with a muddy puddle yesterday. All looked fine, except that it now won't charge (visible damage to the charging port).

My last hope is to find a wireless charger somewhere in town, and hope that that still works!

So glad this phone has wireless charging built in!

The charger port is well and truly dead, and has actually managed to slightly melt the plastic around the port.

All seems well using a wireless charging plate. Going to keep a close eye on it for now though!
