*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

On 4.4.2 and I'm still mega impressed with the battery. 3 hours of on screen time, 1 day 15 hours off charge and still 30% remaining. Haven't played games I don't think, just using it for the boring stuff - browsing, Twitter and Facebook and I've downloaded a few files blocked on the work internet. No wifi whilst I've been at work, so data only for 8+ hours a day. Don't use any battery-saving apps or anything.

Have just started charging now, hence the slight uptrend.

is this just stock?

Ish. I use Cataclysm ROM which is basically stock with a few extra options scattered around, such as more functionality to the drop-down toggles, the power options for restart and other such basics. Other than that, just use Franco kernel.

Mine was doing pretty good with battery life, 4 to 5 hours of screen time over the day with 15%+ battery left. The last couple of weeks though I'm lucky to get half that

If you've got recovery, go into it and clear cache and dalvik cache. Just don't do a wipe/factory reset!

Nexus Media Importer (available on Apptoide if you're feeling skint)

Many thanks for this, it works a treat! :)

On boot it said something about the NTFS file system but couldn't see the FAQ it referred to!?!? Does this mean I can't have my USB stick formatted in NTFS? (meaning I can only view files upto around 4GB????)

Also, what's the deal with Apptoide? It appears to be an alternative "store" but with most (if not all) stuff free!! Is it legal?

OTA just came through on my One M8.

Cleared the data for Google Services Frameworks and Google Play Services. Rebooted, update appeared :)

Just sideloaded the update. Kind of annoyed that as a Nexus 5 owner others are getting updates first. I thought that was the point of a Nexus device, to receive the latest updates first. By receive I mean have them sent to your device without faffing around.
Ahh well, lets see what the update is like :)
