*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

16 or 32gb? How are you getting on with space?

32GB. At the time I bought mine it was only £30 more so it seemed a dumb idea not to tbh.

After 6 months, a lot of useful apps and a lot of music I'm down to 17.12GB out of the 26.76GB available to the user.

You have to remember, the OS takes up some of the storage space so on the 16GB you'll only have 10-11GB available. My sister has the 16GB, she's had it a little longer than I've had mine and is almost out of space.

Am I the only one who, for the first time ever, doesn't feel the need for a new phone after owning a nexus 5?

This phone is still lightning fast, screens is more than enough and big enough.

For the first time ever I actually don't see me changing phones for a good while.

That's what I thought about the Nexus 4, yet here I am.

You'll want the next Nexus (or Android Silver) device, because it's the only thing that will be better.

I've never said this about another phone though.

I honestly can't see how they can better this without ruining it first ( bigger screens / poor design)

Its literally the first phone that's ticked every box .

I've already owned this phone since day 1 (I went to CPW on launch day) and I still don't feel any need to replace, it just does everything pretty much instant.

What else can they do with phones now that can better this? I seriously think its already big enough/thin enough and fast enough already?!

As much as my N5 has worked fantastically, I can't help but have the upgrade itch.

Most things about it are fantastic, but there's just a few things that cause me to want to change. Mainly the memory, 32 GB is just not enough for me, I end up having to pick and choose what I want on there, whereas with a MicroSD card I'd not need to worry about that. There's also the camera and battery, they're okay, but could be better. There's been many times where the extra battery life on the newest phones would have been very useful for me.

You're not. Apart from the truly abysmal speaker placement I'm struggling to think of a negative (other than the obvious lack of SD card for media).

I have quiet a few things I wish I could change.

  • Better Battery life, its not bad but its not great. Most modern Android devices a much better
  • Viewing angles are pretty meh, there is a huge contrast shift which makes blacks basically grey
  • Camera, again its not bad and the updates have improved it massively, but I always want better
  • Design, the phone feels amazing but it is basically as boring as it can get design wise, it is literally a black slab. It feels amazing, and I love the minimal design but at the same time it lacks something, the Nexus 4 was much more exciting by comparison.

It still the best phone for me, but there is a lot I could improve, the thought of no more nexus devices is scary thou.

strange about the viewing angle, I have to have it at stupid angles that you just wouldnt use on a phone anyway to get it like you say.
its a phone your meant to have it in front of you in hand so never understand moaning about viewing angles, every phone I have ever owned I haven't had any problem seeing the screen.

Viewing angles from up/down and sides are pretty much perfect, but go a little bit diagonal and things are shocking. Black goes to very light gray.

But I agree with you entirely, I never, ever hold my phone in a way that I'm looking at it from such an angle, so I don't worry about it.
