I have had this nexus for years but have not been able to use it for the last 12 months or so.
It's not broken and works fine but to me it's unusable due to OK Google.
I installed brave browser when i had it but for some reason when I tap the search bar I get a box up that says "Tap to speak" - no matter what I do I can not get the keyboard up.
On and off I have tried going through the setting to see if I could get rid of it but no joy.
I have now spent today, one and a half hours googling for a fix - every fix ends up with my settings not being the same as what shown on Youtub/'help instructions.
I think I have turned off Voice assistant - slid the slider but it still comes up with Tap to speak ?
I have held down the Voice search icon and dragged it up the screen till remove comes up and icon goes red - go back to home page and there it is sticking two fingers up to me.
I want my keyboard back so does anyone have any idea how to do it.
Please it must be in talking to 5 yr old - I need step by step instructions - The Youtubes assume you know what you are doing and having to keep pause / play every few seconds is a PITA
