Nexus II in time for xmas

So close to xmas, they're must be something hard to view somewhere. You can't release this information in the middle of Q4 and tool up for production in time for xmas. surely

Google will design the phone, Samsung are just the company that will manufacture it, I dont think there is anything to worry about.

O yeah true enough actually, thank god for that :D, although would Samsung not have some input into it as well. Also the nexus 1 looks very much like a HTC mobile (pretty much similar to the desire), in terms of the buttons, the material even looks the same.

Hopefully they will keep a similar design to the nexus 1 as well :D

Interesting  battery life shouldn't be too bad... A9s are supposed to have better power management + 1 core can switch off etc. The screen could kill it though? :D

(+ it might explain why they didn't slap an Orion in the Galaxy Tab...)

Hmmm, yeah. If they do use SAMOLED (most probably will), it shouldn't be as bad as the desire HD :p, although doesn't the AMOLED screens use more power when displaying bright colours, I think.

Yeah I know, really would like to see some videos and pics, all will be revealed on November the 8th along with some video by google for gingerbread no doubt

perhaps you got confused when they announced they wont be selling the nexus as a lot of people assumed this meant they wont be making them either.

No, that's right what you said about the nexus 1, but they did also mention that they wouldn't be making a nexus 2 either, cause there first one did want they wanted it to, which was pretty much increase the popularity of the android OS:

http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blog/...529521/there_will_be_no_google_nexus_two.html

Plus there are a few more articles stating pretty much the same thing on Google somewhere :p

Also apparently this might be the new animation for locking the screen on gingerbread:

Looks kind of cool, a bit like in Terminator 2 at the end, when the red vision cuts out :p

is there any better cpu out this side of 2011?

Well qualcomm seem to be the first to implement new arm cores (e.g. arm cortex 8 in 1st gen snapdragon in 2007).

So looking at their portfolio, we have this dual core beast

edit:

Here are relevant qualcomm press releases

http://www.qualcomm.co.uk/search/index.html?query=qsd8672

This is probably the best one to look at

http://www.qualcomm.co.uk/news/rele...-ships-first-dual-cpu-snapdragon-chipset.html

...

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon family of chipset solutions includes:
• First-generation products: QSD8x50™ with 1GHz enhanced core
• Second-generation products: MSM8x55™ and QSD8x50A™ with 1GHz enhanced core, including multimedia optimisations and 1.3GHz enhanced core, respectively
• Third-generation products: MSM8260, MSM8660 and QSD8672 with dual-CPU architecture featuring enhanced cores running at up to 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz, respectively

I actually like this. slim and nicely tapered, stock android, SAMOLED, no horrible square middle button like in the galaxy s. it better have a flash.

If the above pic is representative of what is actually being developed then it looks ace :)

Would be ideal if the back was the matte plastic with a metal bevel around the edge. Would definitely look like a step up from the SGS. Also can we have the android logo on the back like the original nexus? :D

If it's also got a flash then I might just hang on from my upgrade and get this.

Was going to post that and a few other articles about this as well, stating pretty much the same thing.

I actually quite like the look of it in terms of the design, looks much better than the galaxy S. Just hope they don't use glossy plastic though like the samsung galaxy S or some other cheap kind of plastic . Should just use the same as HTC did for the first nexus/desire tbh. Also hope they put a flash on it as well.

Plus since it's a google branded/official mobile, it will have to be updated as soon as new android updates are out :D

So Samsung can't screw there customers over again :p and plus they can't put there crap UI (touchwiz) on it, it will just be stock android :D

Will hold out for this as well, although it will probably cost a fortune considering the hardware and being branded by google.

I think Im going to hold out upgrading to Desire HD and see how this turns out....when do you think we will get hard info and pic's?.....1-2 weeks?

Yeah about that, I reckon, along with all the info, videos etc. of gingerbread (2.3 or 3.0, not confirmed yet).

Samsung are announcing something "pretty big" on the 8th November in New York and they invited loads of journalists apparently, so pretty sure it will be this mobile.
