Nexus II in time for xmas

Samsung releasing a non iPhone wannabe where they can't screw over their customers with their idiotic branded software ? Sounds very tempting!

Yep, nothing but rumors... its either just a rebranded galaxy s or a superdupermonstermindblowingubermotherfckomg phone :D

Lol :D

I reckon it will be a pretty powerful mobile tbh, as google are really wanting to push the gaming for android forward and apparently the GPU/processor will be by Nvidia  (sadly this will increase the price a lot as well :(, simply because it's got nvidias name on it, no doubt ), plus it has to be damn good as it's the official android mobile by google, it has to be the current benchmark mobile for other top end mobiles to compete with and plus for developing purposes etc.

Yup and also no crap excuses for not updating the android software either :D

Although it might not be Samsung after all, found this here:

http://www.portal.itproportal.com/p.../motorola-devise-google-nexus-two-smartphone/

Plus there are a few other articles on the internet suggesting googles next mobile will be by motorola.

Guess, will just have to wait for the official announcement by google, samsung or motorola within the next few weeks :( to find out for sure what's happening and who is making it etc.

What a name though :D, The Terminator or T2 (if it's true) :D

there had previously been loads of releases saying that motorola would have one of if not the first gingerbread phone, wasn't due until the new year though. That could I suppose refer to their own release akin to the Desire

motorola would be the smarter choice imo for both companies. motorola needs something really decent as imo they're dying badly as i haven't seen one in years and don't expect to any time soon.

for google to go with motorola they'd be releasing a unique android phone. going with samsung and if it's like what has been suggested it would just come across as a samsung galaxy so nothing different to what's out atm.

Motorola indeed would be the smart choice. The hardware is undoubtedly good from Moto and they have also released a couple of handsets with stock android on them.

In the US they have a fairly strong lineup of phones but over here it's much weaker with the original Droid still being the flagship which came out like a year ago!

i want it to be a Samsung just for the SAMOLED screen

In some ways, so do I just for the screen and the looks as well (that's if it is similar to that mockup design).

Really don't like the look of Motorola mobiles, think they look very ugly, fat and plain looking mobiles (just a simple rectangle shape, don't really have any character to them, if you know what I mean) IMO.

And encase anyone didn't see the link to the other page going into detail about the new Motorola Terminator 2/T2 (nexus 2), here it is:

http://androidandme.com/2010/10/pho...-coming-to-multiple-carriers-early-next-year/

Apparently the hardware is virtually finished etc. there just waiting for the next android release (gingerbread) to put onto them.

The Milestone 2 is due for imminent release, currently sitting at 15th of Nov

And that isn't much different to the original Milestone, huge disappointment all round in the states.

Droid X would probably do better over here for Motorola.

Eh? I thought they were essentially the same hardware with the exchange of a smaller screen but addition of the keyboard

The Milestone 2 is a slightly upgraded Milestone that has suffered in reviews. (The keyboard slider phone)

The Droid X is a 4.3" monster, sort of a Motorola version of the Desire HD.

Will definately keep an ear on this, I like my Desire, although battery life is a bugbear. If I could sell it and get something of similar build quality with either better battery life, or much more powerful but with similar battery life, yet didnt cost a bomb, I'd be interested.
Got an unlocked and unbranded phone which should make my Desire more 'desire-able'.:D

I know what they are, they are hardwarewise the same, same processor, ram etc. The droid x has a bigger battery but one would assume that is to compensate for the higher drain from the bigger screen.
The droid 2 is not a slightly upgraded droid, it is a droid x with a smaller screen and slider qwerty in place of it.

Hmmm I really don’t know what to do...My contract with Vodafone is up on the 3rd of December and I have to give them 30 days notice to cancel.....well I suppose I could cancel and then if this turns out to be rubbish then I can change my mind and upgrade to HTC desire HD....who really thinks we will see this before Christmas?

After your contract is up you don't have to give them 30 days notice, you just ask for your PAC

I reckon we will tbh, especially if it is Motorola who is making the nexus 2 (think that's pretty much confirmed that they are the makers of the nexus 2/Terminator 2/T2 now) as apparently they have virtually finished and they are just waiting on the software to reveal the device.

Also more information to support that the nexus 2 will be by Motorola, "Nexus Two rumors “simply not true” claim Samsung":

The event on November 8th is actually dedicated to the Verizon-exclusive Continuum dual-screen smartphone:

Have to say that actually seems like a pretty cool idea (as usual though, the same crap, cheap looking glossy plastic that they seem to use for the casing of all there mobiles now  , will they ever use a decent material/finish/texture for there mobiles ).

If only Samsung would improve there support though and not abandon the mobiles after a few months of being released leaving them on an old OS then I might consider there mobiles once again. So until they work on that, good riddance Samsung :p :)

Wonder if HTC and other companies will integrate this sort of technology (dual touch screens) in future releases of there mobiles.
