I replaced the fan in my Zalman CNPS9700 LED with a Nexus Real Silent fan of the same size cut away from its casing, as the original was very noisy at high rpm. It works fine but I can't control the speed - it runs at about 1400 rpm. It has a motherboard connection which I'm using and a power supply connection which doesn't seem to run it, and causes a 'CPU fan not detected' error. Asus Q-fan on my P5B Deluxe doesn't have any effect.
Cooling is ok at this low speed for an E6300 at stock 1.86 ghz, about 37c idle and 41c load, but I want to have a first go at o/cing and I would really like to get the fan running at full speed. I can't find any info from nexus and not sure how to proceed. Can anyone help?
Thanks very much
Phil.
