NFL 2014 Season

Jared Allen signs for the Bears was following to see if he would go to the seahawks...

Disappointed to see him go to a conference rival, good luck to him all the same (except against the Vikings, naturally).

Eagles have released DeSean Jackson, allegedly because of his ties to the Crips street gang. Intredasting.

Some great moves so far and from my point of view it seems to be evening out the league, I would say at this moment a Pats vs Seahawks Superbowl but so much movement is fantastic.

The league have made a balls up on the celebration stopping though.

Dont mind the new rule change, it was getting a little daft and goading the other team really isnt all that sportsmanlike...it not exactly an all out ban on celebrations , its just telling players not to be idiots basically.

LeGarrette Blount finalising a deal with the Steelers. Seen Him play with the Patriots a few times and he looks like a beast.

Safe to say, he is beast! Can't quite understand why we let him go over Ridley... Mr. Fumbalot!

Yeah, I'm all for celebrating in whatever way you like, so long as its generally inoffensive to people!

Don't agree with the 'no dunking' rule though... was always one of my favs!

We'd better have some awesome draft picks this year otherwise I doubt we'll make play offs!

Speaking of the draft, who would you like to see New England take in the first? I've seen Ra'Shede Hageman fall down to the bottom of the first/top of the second in most mocks, seems like a good fit no? Or would you favour aggressively trading up for a receiver (Mike Evans for example, since Sammy Watkins would likely be out of reach)?

I've given a lot of thought to the Vikings first rounder, and I'd like to see us draft Mack if he's still there (although I don't see him falling out of the top 5, and definitely not to 8th) otherwise look to trade down for more picks and go best player available.

I'd quite like another TE. So Jace Amaro would be my first pick.

WR wise, I certainly wouldn't say no to Sammy Watkins!

Now Blount has gone we could do with filling the gap at RB, and still need some more clout on the OL

Sounds like you have too many holes to fill to aggressively trade up?

Vikes have a lot of holes too, but at least we have an extra 3rd rounder from Seattle from the Harvin trade and also the possibility of trading down for picks if need be. Speaking of Percy, we really landed on our feet when we drafted Cordarrelle Patterson to replace him; we got that pick from you guys didn't we? Thanks for that ;)

Yeah we could probs do it with one player, but we're litterally going to be putting all our eggs in one basket this season, especially with the free agents we've signed.

Not 100% but I think you're right.. no problem! ;)

I don't see how a team can turn down Clowney, he's that good. I'd take him as 1st pick, but the Texans can't really afford not to take a QB in the 1st round.

It's not been a great month for my team (Steelers), who have spent the month resigning all the elderly and cheap players, and releasing the likes of Crotchery and Sanders to free up cap space.

We got a couple of compensatory picks in the draft to give 2 5th and 6th round selections which should help out with squad depth but I don't see us getting the quality needed.

Clowney on the Rams would be pretty disgusting with Quinn and Long already crushing Olines regularly, but I think they have some holes they need to fill more.

Could see a team trading up a long way to get him though, he is a freak.

Da Bears!!!

Avid lifelong Bears fan but never really stray into this part of the forum (National thread pulled me in).

Tend to think the Texans will take Clowney and pass on the QB. Might well be wrong but everything I read suggests that this years QB class isn't the best. Equally there's been so many duff QB's taken over the years in the 1st round that maybe that isn't a bad thing.

For my own team I like some of the moves we made in free agency; releasing Peppers (only becuase of that insane salary), releasing Bush and restocking the D-Line. Indifferent to other moves; Cutler, and sad we saw some things happen; Hester and not sacking Mel Tucker (breaking 50 year old records is sack worthy).

A lot of areas in the draft we could go with; depth at DL, LB, Safety, back-up QB, RB and interior OL. Cutler will be injured so we need something at 3rd QB either in the main or supplemental draft.

Roll on the draft.

As a Titan I am a fairly pessimistic person but with a new coach in Whisenhunt, with his new staff and a lot of change in the squad I am actually looking forward to see if this season could be a platform for things to come.

Glad we got rid of Chris Johnson as he just wasn't earning his money, good to see McCluster, Al Woods and Michael Oher try and get their respective careers going in Tennessee as well.

Looking forward to this season for the Ravens, hopefully the new offensive signings can live up to the hype and improve on last season.

Does anyone on here watch the Draft? Wondering whether it's worth staying up to watch or whether it's just a little tedious?

I'm counting down the days, more excited for the draft than I was for the Superbowl.

If you're not familiar with the prospects then it's not all that interesting, just a bunch of dudes names getting called out and them shaking the commissioner's hand whilst holding the shirt of their new team.

If like me however you've spent the last 3 months reading countless mock drafts and following the combine for any scrap of information which might give you a clue which way your team is gonna go then you'll feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

That'll be me tuning in then, looking forward to it. Can't say I've been been reading everything but I've been reading up on the top 10-20 guys on the mock drafts and watched a lot of the Combine videos.
