Hi,

I've got this particular external drive:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-228-SE&groupid=1657&catid=1659&subcat=

Which is NFTS formatted. I've got a Mac coming this week and have around 320GB of data which I'd like to be able to view via the Mac. I know they don't pick up NFTS drives so need to reformat.

So far I'm thinking my only option is to back this data up elsewhere and reformat? Are there any other options?

Is there anything I should know about FAT32? any partition size limits or anything like that?

Thanks for any help,

BennyC

I'm pretty sure Windows Vista & 7 retain XP's incompatibility with FAT32 partitions larger than 32 GB. Also, there's the 4 GB file limit, which would be a problem for HD video, for example).

Use exFAT instead (essentially FAT64) if there's no way of getting a Mac to read & write to NTFS.
