Nightmare 4K TV purchase

Avforums tested it and it was just over 600 zones and 1800 nits, Sony never follow things like that, they like to do there own thing and they won't pay for the DV chip, which in my opinion is HDR done right

Seeing as literally no-one knows how DV will turn out compared with other options (look at 3-D at the start compared to now for instance) , thats a very strange thing to state (at a development thats SO new)

If you watch DV compared to HDR you will know exactly what I mean by "done right"

Well I just got a refund on my 60KS7000. Backlight bleed got worse. Richersounds belfast give full refund after testing for a Few mins.

Shame really the TV blew me away at times. :(

The 55Ks they had on show seems to have zero backlight bleed

Every LCD will have backlight bleed to some extent it's the nature of the technology, remember the one you saw on show was under shop lighting so wouldn't likely show it in the environment it was in

Never knew that. If Sony\Samsung start doing OLED I may have a look back in to it.

Sony is a possibility Samsung no chance because LG have the only working OLED tech, what I will say is LG are far better than they were 10 years ago and their CS is in a diffrent league to Samsung

When they do a 75 inch OLED for £3,000 you can count me in.
Also they will have to stop the burn in from happening. I use my TV for everything so that's important.

The one I have will be ok for two years.

We are a few years away from that but There is no burn in what so ever, you get IR which goes after it has switched off, after the tv has been on for 4 hours the next time it's switched off it does a compensation cycle which compensates for voltage drift and uneven pixel wear

No burn in? so like today my TV has had windows 7 desktop on it all day? I will have it on for 14 hours a day :)

It also has a manual 1 hour long compensation cycle to get rid of stubborn IR which is what I would class that under, I wouldn't want to try that on mine but I have watched soccer Saturday all day and haven't had any problems once it's done it's cycle

I will leave it till it has sorted out it's problems.
I will be looking at the OPPO to see if that gets DV enabled and see what's it like.

I have the panny Uhd player but It will be getting traded in as soon as the oppo player comes out the scaling on the oppo is second to none

Cant see Sony doing an OLED at this point (unless they do it themselves, just dont see that happening). Unlikely to source from LG I would have thought

Dolby Vision is on Netflix..... ;)

Netflix will still be doing its own thing to reduce the bandwidth required
