Hi

Just bought a 50mm lens to partner with my D80. Does anybody use this with a D80?, just after some tips for use as I've been used to using the standard kit 18-135 and 70-300 VR.

I've heard of many people using this for more than just potrait work because of the supreme image quality potential.

I don't really know what you are getting at. You cna use the lens for anything you want, I use it for landscape, still-life, architecture, street photography, and only ocasionally for portraits. For protraits I prefer the 35mm 1.8 or the 70mm end of the 70-200 2.8 for head and shoulders.

On the older AF-D version which I have it is too soft at f/1.8 but the new AF-S version should be sharper wide open.
