Just for the record.
Just took these 2 images.

Base plate sitting on top of capacitors.

Base plate 'adjusted'.

The plate actually touches and is held up slightly by the capacitors.
Needs a Rev C with new base plate !

Right now I'm seeing 33ºC on core 0 and 32ºC on core 1, fan running at 40%.
My max temp today has been core 0 42º amd core 1 36ºC, fan running at 40%.
If I play BF2 I can see low to mid 50's, fan running at 100%.

I can't remember my original temps but I'm sure I've posted them on here somewhere.

*edit* E6600 @ 8x400=3.2GHz, 1.3250v.

I used a Dremel with a cutting blade to remove the slice from the plate.

Another point to note is that I don't ever use a side on my case so there is always plenty of cool fresh air around the fan/heatsink. With an enclosed case I'd expect to see higher temps. Also, CPU-Z report a voltage of 1.296v.

I did this on one of the sides with the screw holes so that the fan would blow over the fins of the bottom heatsink and it has left just enough of a gap to keep to bracket together and sturdy(ish).
