No End in Sight is a documentary film that concentrates on alleged mistakes made by the Bush administration in the two-to-three-month period following the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. The film portrays these errors as the cause of ensuing problems in Iraq, such as the rise of the insurgency, a lack of security and basic utilities for many Iraqis, sectarian violence and the risk of complete civil war.

To a large extent the film consists of interviews with the people who were involved in the initial Iraqi occupation authority and the ORHA (the Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance, later replaced by the CPA, the Coalition Provisional Authority). 35 people are interviewed, many of them former Bush loyalists who have since become disillusioned by what they experienced at the time. In particular, many of those interviewed claim that the inexperience of the core members of the Bush administration—and their refusal to seek, acknowledge or accept input from more experienced outsiders—was at the root of the disastrous occupation effort.

Starts at 10:00 pm on more 4. I've seen it and I think it's great if you're into that kind of stuff. I thought some of you might be interested :)

"Great if you're into that kind of stuff". Kudos to you stiffy for being so. I think your hitting a very big nail on the head in that innocently intended statement. I find that ironically funny but sad at the same time.

OK, "Great if you're interested about the civil unrest and occupation of Iraq". I was making a quick thread before going out quickly, no need to be lame about it. If we're going to be lame, I'd like to point you in the direction of: http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/your.html

Hope that helps :)

Hehe yeah sorry lads. It is on more 4 :)

Just popped onto my computer after watching this,

I found it both interesting and very shocking.

Paul Bremer ruined something that should never have happened in the first place,

The Americans have no respect from me due to their poor planning and general stupidity in what they were doing,

FFS they didn't even listen to the people on the ground, Its actually made me so mad that I don't think i'm going to get to sleep easily tonight.

It really is appalling how badly the whole thing was handled. It was just poor decision after poor decision. I know everyone is clever in hindsight but situations such as the transitional government being formed 60 days (!) before the invasion took place just beggars belief.

The home-made video of that security contractor was bloody disgusting.

There is a very good piece by Greg Palast about the motives behind the firing of Garner and putting Bremer in charge. It was just put down to bad decision making in the Documentry but the evidence shows that Bremer was used to delay proceedings because Garner wanted a quick election and hand over of power. The delay was employed meaning that Iraq's assets could be carved up and sold off and the US contracts could be secured. All before a new Iraqi government had any power to intervene.
