No GPU drivers @ 550 FSB (E8400 P5Q D)

Hi, first off basically sourced and built my new PC with the help of this site so thank you all.
Right my problem is this I get no display drivers loading in windows when I try to overclock @ 550 FSB; 545 no problem, any obvious reason?
My GPU is a HD4850GS - bought from OcUK from that stock of B grade on offer a couple of weeks ago. Cheesy grin

First 8+Hr Prime95
525 FSB x 8 @ 1.25 VCore
Guess that makes her 4.2Ghz air stable.
Max Temps were 54C (Was cold last night though.) "Right nob back in pants

So maybe a Bios upgrade get me to 550? Currently on 1204

Do you have pci-e freq in the bios or even the option to lock it?

Why dont you just drop down to 466x9 and go further from there?

Not sure about pci-e freq, will have a look. Could that be the issue?
I am currently stable at 4.3ghz 540x8 vcore in cpu-z 1.288 temps staying below 57 with Xigmatek 1284 (long story here- originally planned for the 1283 though my impatience/impulsiveness caused me to grab a bargain crossbow kit of ebay, well a couple of quid cheaper than that Bolton store. Anyway turned out by rushing I got me the ACK l7753 for 4 heat pipe versions rather than the ACK l7751.) Phew. I am a nob.
Yeah been trying to stay at an eight multiplier as I read the higher the FSB the better?

The higher the FSB the better until you get to a cetain point when your motherboard hits its limit, for me the limit is around 460 (P5E) therefore it is better to drop the multi if you want a higher Overclock.

Will let you know how I go on. PCIE Frequency is at 100 b.t.w. with valid values 100-180. Would upping this help my GPU boot at 550? It's a shame as I can get into windows at 550 and run Prime95 with no errors, only no sign of my GPU in devices.

AFAIK you are supposed to lock the PCIE frequency at 100 or it can damage your Graphics card.
