I need help plugging my Amptastic Mini 1 into my new TV.

It has no headphone jack. The only way I can plug it in is via optical.

Is there a converter? The only item I can see is an optical to RCA that looks like it goes the other way. Converting digital signals from the speakers to an analog input on the TV. Is there anything that converts analog from the speakers to digital on the TV?

Stupidly didn't look whether it had a headphone jack but hey. I thought it would be a given...

Otherwise I'm going to have to buy a new set of optical active speakers. I dont want to do that though.

Thanks.

No that's just an adaptor. That allows a mini toslink cable to be plugged into a standard toslink socket.

What you need is what the above posted linked to, a DAC; which converts the digital optical signal into analogue with either 3.5mm or RCA/phono output; sometimes both.

I wouldn't buy that particular one though, too many 1* reviews in comparison to how many 5* there are. I'd spend a bit more and get this.

It is cheap and I'm not surprised that it suffers from build quality issues but it does the job at budget level, OP what are you willing to spend?

£12 is cheap. £6 is scraping the bottom of the barrel. I very much doubt you could pay much less for a DAC. For the sake of £6, it's not worth the chance of getting one that doesn't work properly.
