Just installed my first SSD - It's an intel x25-m 80Gb

Are these speeds what I should be expecting?

The firmware on the drive is version 02HA but the latest is 02HD

Should I bother to update it?

Thx in advance

Performance is fine, are you sure it's 02HA? Would be surprised if a drive bought recently didn't have the latest firmware considering my drive from about 4-5 months ago did.

If it's really not at the latest you may as well flash it since it's non destructive you won't lose any data, but backup just incase.

Mine is so bad compared to yours:

Anyone know how i improve it? i got a Gigabyte UD3R X58 board too and just installed this 2 days ago but haven't updated any firmware or motherboard stuff....not sure what i need to download.

Looks like my ssd isn't running properly though judging from this.I've noticed though mine says "ATA device" and yours doesn't....a friend installed this ssd so no idea whats gone wrong.(he did enable AHCI though)

Is it Intergrated Peripherals> Sata/ACHI mode: Enable ACHI mode? (this option is disabled but guess this is it? and put it to ACHI mode? the other option was RAID but obviously isn't that as i got single ssd.)

Or is it somewhere else in BIOS?

Nah that is it mate

Rebooted with that enabled and still says ATA device....so think i will get same results....unless there's something else i got to enable?

EDIT: Did another run, a lot better results now but not sure if i've fully sorted it:

Make sure the SSD is on ports 0-3 and make sure it's the first controller you're switching to AHCI. Defo make sure you ran that fixit I linked though otherwise you won't be able to boot.

Check above results, shall i just leave as it is now? it's wierd though because it has a Safely remove hardware and eject media icon now bottom right of windows with the ssd listed...strange.(says i can eject it lol)

Also on post screen it goes through a small list of the ports very fast, it seems to find it there then boot but can't see which port it as it's too quick.

Thanks for your help both of you, got 411 score with those new drivers above so i am happy as it seems about normal for X25(400 seems about the rough amount)

Did you two notice any loading improvements in games with these? i've only tried Borderlands/Company of heroes/Penumbra but only noticed it in Penumbra where it was 50% faster or so.....but then again that was before i changed it to these settings so might be better now.
