Hi all,

my mums dad passed away on the 23rd of December,

his funeral is on the 5th of January which I will be attending.

Now my immediate family and my mums side of the family really REALLY don't get on at all, we barely see each other and are always arguing etc.

Until a week or so when I saw him in the hospice it had been the first time I had seen him for about 7 years.

And even when I was a nipper I barely saw him.

Now for the funeral mums given me a piece of card to write a sentence or to on.

Now I haven't a clue what to write.

I don't want to put

"You will always be missed" because everyone is going to write that and it will feel abit corny to me.

So can anyone give a few nice words that can go on his card please.

Many Thanks.

Phate :)

Nobody can tell you what to write at all.

Personally you should write is as a personal sentence. Something that would be something you two shared possibly

Ok I didn't quite explain myself properly.

I didn't have a single thing to do with the bloke, he was a horrible man that only ever wanted to know our family when he wanted something.

I was just wondering if anyone had any other generic words rather than "You will always be missed" etc.

In that case does it really matter if you write a special reply? Hes obviously not special to you, so simply write;

'Rest in Peace' <insert poem/saying here.>

Doesn't matter to me. Matters to my mum though.

Meh, i thought there could be something a little less generic.

I'll just write.

"You will always be missed"

Thanks anyway though guys :)

If you didn't like him, just don't write anything.

I had very little, if any respect for the man. But it's not exactly going to be nice to the rest of the family if I do that is it?
