Hi guys, im new to the forums and after buying a system from overclockers I have a problem. The system arrived to day and I cant get the sound to work. The speakers are fine and I have checked all of the settings and nothing is muted. What could the probelm be? any help would be great, thanks.

I'll get my crystal ball..:p

Sorry for the sarcasm, some info would be good. What speakers? Onboard sound, or sound card? What version of Windows, assuming you are using that?

lol, ok im using onboard sounds and wondows 7. they are just some cheap speakers i got free with my monitor. When i plug them in i get realtek HD audio manager come up, if i select them as headphones i get sound when i test them using realtek, but they wont give sound for any other program.

Hmm, is the correct sound device selected in Windows? If the board has either coaxial or optical socket, Windows might be using digital as the default audio, therefore no sound via any analogue sockets.

If you haven't checked, or don't know how to do so, right click on the little speaker in the task bar at the bottom right corner of the screen. Go to playback devices and check if Realtek is selected as default.

thanks guys, it wasn't set as the default, but it will only play sound if I select it as headphones rather than speakers, this doesn't matter because at least I have sound
