no sound in stalker

just installed stalker on my new rig, updated it to the 1.0005 of whatever it is and i have no sound at all in the game or the main menu.

any ideas?

using a auzentech prelude on spdif to my yam receiver

Could try dropping the Hardware Acceleration to Basic, or off in the Sound and Audio Properties in the Control Panel.

Crazy suggestion - but you have plugged everything in and turn the speakers on/volume up.

Just one of those things; you know like when you build a new rig, turn it on and you get no picture and you are like OMG!!!! Then after 15 minutes of panic you realise that you forgot to plug in the power supply to the video card.

You know..... or is it just me?

Have you resolved this issue or not ?

I had also sound issues now and again and upgraded to 1.05 patch and then 1.06 patch and now having issues with my saved games !

Sometimes it works just fine and other times it doesn't !
