well i have finally got xp installed on the system, after much swearing and threats!

All is good so far apart from the small fact that i have no sound via the onboard sound provided from the motherboard. Looking at dxdiag it says that i have no sound acceleration or any sort of sound going on, this after installing the drivers supplied with the motherboard for the sound.

Any ideas??

see sig, the motherboard is now a8r32-mvp deluxe

maybe a silly question but is it enabled in the bios?

what version bios are u running? have you tried updating it if not the latest?

Default in the BIOS has sound enabled anyway. Have you checked device manager? All you should need to do install drivers ( Realtek HD 1.34)

Erm yes, drivers...They make everything work spick and span :)

Your motherboard should have come with a Cd saying something like chipset drivers or motherboard drivers/utilities...if it has a chipset driver on there install it, and then look for Sound driver.

Reply wen you have some info...Surely you know what drivers are tho?
