No sound on xbox 360

I got a vga cable for my 360 and using it with my lcd monitor. Now the sound cables go into the phono to mini-jack which goes into my mic sound input on my speakers. But all i get is a faint sound, I can hardly hear anything. Sound is up maximum on everything. Any suggestions?

Do you have a separate "line-in" rather than "mic-in"?

Nope only mic in and phone (headphone) out. Theres no other connections. What do you suggest? New speakers? In that case looking for some 2.1 that will be compatiable.

There is a reason why Mic In is seperate to Line In.

Get new speakers.

Would i be able to use the mini-jack phono splitter with them speakers then, as it only has an aux input?
