No Xp Pro to Vista Home Premium Upgrade

I was just reading that it is not possible to upgrade XP Pro to Vista Home Premium without a clean installation. This is really annoying as my copy of XP Pro is from MSDN I'm not sure the Vista DVD will like my Windows disk that I burnt myself.

I've got a validated XP Pro installation on my computer, the main thing i'm worrying about is will the Vista Upgrade version accept my CD which i created from an MSDN iso?
