Hi Guys,

I am looking for advice on which would be the best cooler to go for if overclocking Phenom II x2 550 ?. I have read the reviews but I dont know anyone who has first hand knowledge of these product. Your thoughts would be great.

Cheers

The Noctura should be the better performing product, although the two are fairly similar.

The benefit of the H50 comes when you consider that it isn't massive and unwieldy.

If you're looking for straight up cooling performance, go for the Noctua. It's still pretty much unbeaten by the self-enclosed cooling loop kits. From the majority of reviews I've seen, it's also quieter than the H50 too. I'm struggling to see the benefits of the CoolIt ECO and the Corsair H50 personally as they're outdone by top-end coolers of the same price point and don't seem to be any quieter as you need to use high CFM fans to cool effectively and compensate for their weedy pumps.

Sums it up very well!

Although personally, I'd look at the Thermalright Silver Arrow over the NH-D14.

Yeah and if pushed for space then the Venomous x with a couple of nice fans, all of these beat the Corsair though.

I've had the Noctua and while it had great cooling and the included fans are very quiet it was just a little to big for my setup at the time so i got a Venomous x and temps are almost the same as the Noctua but it takes up quite a bit less space.
