Noctua NH-U12P

The noctua fan that comes it is pretty much the 25mm high presure king whilst still remaining quiet, so really unless you strapping on 38mm fans or a crazy 25mm fan your proably going to see a temp increase especially at low RPM's.

The TRUE 120 and Tuniq are pretty much considered the air cooling kings with the Noctua one of the very best afterwards especially with its "super" fan, with the silent knight being a bit worse. Although you are only proably talking a few degrees difference. If you have the NH-U12P already it's proably not worth changing cooler unless you really want to push your o/c to the max.

I'd say it's possibly better then the Tuniq or TRU as it matches the performance but is virtually silent. It's also got one of the most secure mounting methods.

Anand said with 1xNF-P12 fan, and testing an X6800 at idle, it matched the best which he considers to be the Thermalright Ultra Extreme. In fact with 2xNF-P12 fans at stock speed (it comes with 2 sets of clips to install 2 fans) on an X6800, the temps dropped to ambient room temp and outperformed every other sink he has tested. At stock it seems a winner and unmatched.

When overclocking, with 2 fans, it managed 3.940 ghz which matches what he did with a TRU, and better then a Tuniq which topped out at 3.90. So it seems to scale as well as the best.

Yeah..some members over on SPCR also found the static pressure to be only ok, better then the S12 that's for sure, but not as good as the 1200rpm S-Flex. The thing is though, the quality of fan/motor noise from these Noctuas is excellent. Better the Scythe in my opinion. As good if not better then the Nexus. And used in cooling an NF-P12 heatisnk as they are intended, they are almost silent at 1300rpm inside a PC case, even with 2 of them in push/pull. (Anand mentioned this iin his review). I've tried S-Flex (all models), SilentX, YateLoons, SilentEagles, Akasa Ambers, Nexus, Acoutifan, and I reckon the Noctuas P12's offer the best balance between cooling and noise. So while there are fans which push more air (and noisier) for the airflow the Noctua P12 pushes and the noise levels it has I think it's the best fan out there.
