Noise from front of car

Ok im hearing this weird noise from my car, it like clagging or a banging noise.

It ony happens at higher speeds 60mph up.

When im sitting at 60 and accelerating I dont hear anything but if i take my foot off the accelerator i hear the ratteling/banging noise from the front wheel area.

It also happens when i take a left turn at the same speed but it dont make the noise if i take a right turn.

Anybody got any ideas what it is?

p.s. The tracking and wheel balacing is fine as i got it checked.

Is it a regular knocking sound or random? If its regular I'd suggest it could be the CV joints, although you dont normally get that in a straight line.

My first thought was CV joint but if you hear anything more than a clonking at full lock then it sounds pretty serious :eek:

Never known it to do it in a straight line.

What do you mean by regular?

Its the same noise each time, And it only happens in a straight line when i take my foot off the accelerator but it dont do it when braking.

CV Joints. Sounds expensive

How old is your car? Milage?

when you let off does your car jolt/rock slightly?

regular as in knock..knock..knock..knock or irregular as in knock.........knock..knock.......knock.knock etc

I'd have the driveshafts/ wheel bearings looked at asap
