Nokia battery - length of initial charge?

Please help settle a heated debate :D

That "car mobile" shop states that the initial charge should be 9 hours, the Nokia helpline say similiar but the phone manual (6080) says the battery takes 1 hour and 10 mins to charge from flat. It doesn't mention if this is the 1st charge or though!

Battery = Nokia BL-5B Li-ion

Help me please OcUK!

I dont think I have ever charged any battery for that amount of time on any mobile.

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone-12.htm

States:
"Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days."

Most modern batteries are of the Li-Ion Type and I think newer ones are Lithium-Polymer Batteries.

If the Nokia manual states that the battery should be charged for 2 hours and the "Shop" say something else then I'm inclined to go with the manual.

Shunts....
