Has anyone got any experience of buying “made to fit” boot liners from eBay as opposed to the genuine manufacturer products?

Lexus are quoting £86 for a rubber liner but it seems their are tailored products on eBay for around £40.

Trying to wonder how much quality I might end up missing out on.

Bought one for my Karoq a few years back after buying one for the Golf it replaced. Perfectly fine fit and finish with no issues over the 2 years each car had it and a fraction of the cost. You would never guess it wasn't OEM.

No experience of non Orem but have one ones in a few of mine

one personal the kuga 5yr old has been corvette with dogs shopping lawnmowers slabs etc hose down sees it like new

for repeated use I’ve got a genuine Ford one in my Mindel taxi 250k miles of use on it and it’s had more suitcases in her than I’d care to imagine. Again like new

don’t think they were even that dear from the dealer check eBay for a genuine one at reduced rates

I've never used ebay for this, but I have used CarMats4U for these in a few cars now. I had one in my wifes Civic, my Mondeo, and now my wifes CX-5. All have fit really well and do the job. Whilst I must admit the rubber on your ebay one looks better these are quite a bit cheaper;

You can also add a carpet insert on these and I've always had this as well always going for the cheapest option. That fits snugly inside the rubber mat and helps it look a bit more discreet in my opinion. On the occasion I've had to put something really messy in I've took the carpet liner top off and just slid it under the rubber but with it being so cheap I've generally taken to not caring and just let it get good and mucky giving it a hoover every so often. It certainly seems to be doing the job of protecting the true boot floors as I would like.

You can get posher carpets and options for fold out protection on these as well though I've never had any of them.

Which Lexus did you get in the end @Martynt74 ?

Also honestly for saving £40 I'd go OEM on the basis that it'd be easier to resell...

Got the NX300H. Will throw some pics in the main thread when I’m back on a laptop.

I guess that makes sense. The cheap one is free returns though so gone for a punt and will see how it is. I’m still begrudging the extra £350 tax for >40k cars so saving where I can! :p

Nice! It is a head turner. Just the right amount on the road IMO.

Only 7? years to go on the extra tax issue :p

Yeah. Was expecting to see loads once we picked it up but still very few around. Been loving the adaptive cruise so far and having silence in electric mode is lovely. It does get quite loud at times though and isn’t the nicest of engine tones given it’s 2.5l just still sounds a bit whiny.

Well I’m on a 2018 plate so that’s what. 4 years left? One down so far anyway!

Bought one for the 6 series and after the horrible rubber smell went its been perfect, doesn't move and is easily cleaned.
