PC Specialist Vanquish Renegade Pro Gaming PC, Intel Core i7-8700 3.2GHz, 16GB DDR4, 3TB HDD, 500GB SSD, No-DVD, NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti 11GB, WIFI, Windows 10 Home

Monitor is a gaming Ben q 140hz

I'd like to upgrade some parts, but without spending loads of money and generally improve my pc performance.

I currently play warzone and I'm getting on average about 100 / 140 fps.

The game looks lovely with geforce filters, however I've noticed when I'm jumping into the game as I get closer to things such as trees, they become more detailed the closer I get, but I don't like the distortion I think that's what I see, like, the screen tears very little, and then I see the detail, I want to eliminate this, so the game is detailed from any distance, angle etc.

Is it my pc causing this or my monitor? Do I need a higher refresh rate.

Game looks awesome, but I'm hoping I can maximise the performance without spending hundreds of pounds..

What will help?
New monitor?
New water cooling case

Ways I can clock things? I'm complete noob so a little worried about overlocking

Please suggest some ideas

If you can get hold of one, simplest thing would be to get an RTX 3070 graphics cards, dependent on your power supply, 750 watts min.

▷ Asus GeForce RTX 3070 TUF 8GB GDDR6 PCI-Expre… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

This should be destroy the 1080 Ti, by a considerable margin.

In regards to a monitor, does your monitor have Free sync or Gsync? These are proprietary technologies from AMD and NVIDIA there stop screen tearing. If not consider a new monitor with those. One like this. I turn vsync on at the driver level and that seems to get rid of any tearing.

▷ Gigabyte G27FC-EK 27" 1920x1080 VA 165Hz 1ms … | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

"but I don't like the distortion I think that's what I see."

Check if there is something turned on in the game called GRAIN EFFECT. This adds a strange filmy type appearance that may relate to what you describe.

I hope my ideas make sense, any questions let me know!

Thanks for the reply

At the moment, I am contemplating a new monitor possibly 250 HZ G sync but then I am only hitting a consistent 80-100 fps on warzone, on high settings.

Maybe I can clock my GPU and CPU and make it a solid 140 FPS and stick with the same monitor and experience would be more crisp

Then I will be getting full 144hz experience? am I right in saying it's pointless to get a new monitor at 250 hz if I ant hitting 250 fps on warzone?

Don't fancy spending 600 quid on that card m8, as I feel with some tweaks my 1080ti can still be a pretty awesome card.

What do you reckon now bud?

Or I do like high settings, along with reasonable FPS so might go for 144 still with 1440p resolution, but not sure so don't want to be wasting money unless Ill get a decent improvement.

I mean, basically warzone runs smooth as silk, with geforce filters on, the game looks lovely.

Just when I jump in the match, Shadows take longer to develop so I see thme appear sometimes last minute, and things like trees, seem to change detail a little when I get closer, like I can see them become more detailed all of a sudden, I would prefer I didn't see the change and it naturally blends in with good detail without a flicker...

Sounds like a loading issue into RAM/VRAM. Is game on SSD or hard drive?

Does your motherboard have an M2 NVME port? If not stick you game on an SSD. Solid State Drive.

I had loading issues with World of Tanks until I stuck it on the SSD. Textures would take ages to load....

Not sure what you mean, but the games are saved to the Local Disk D:

And then I just have normal Windows C: Drive

My memory is 16GB DDR4, 3TB HDD, 500GB SSD

I'm gonna hold out on the graphic card upgrade and wait for the new series to upgrade, I'm happy hitting 100-120 fps on warzone.

So I'd like to upgrade the monitor, I like visual and frames.

So I'm thinking, a nice balance would be a 140/165 hz 1440p monitor, if I'm not going to loose that much fps?

Currently I use the Ben q 144hz 1080p montior.

I'm assuming my rig isn't powerful enough to run 250hz 1440p monitor without losing to much fps but I'm thinking it makes sense for when I upgrade the graphic card eventually to buy this monitor anyway or would it literally make games ****?

Just wondered what my best option is for frames and visual

1440p 144hz
Or
1440 250hz
