I'm very noob, have a new PC, and not trying to overclock here, I just want to get my hardware going at its rated speeds. I've got Kingston RAM PC6400, DDR2 800, 4 x 2GB modules and an Intel Q9650 installed on an ASUS P5Q SE mobo. The first pic shows the RAM was at 333MHz (I guess x 2 = 667Mhz?) when all the Bios settings were on "Auto". In the Bios I changed to RAM speed from "Auto" to "800" to get the RAM up to its rated speed, 2nd pic: 399.6MHz (I guess x 2 = 800MHz?). Have I done everything correctly so far? I left the timings and voltages on "Auto" and it looks like nothing with the timings changed, maybe that's good. But the FSB: DRAM ratio went from 1:1 to 5:6 by itself, is that OK?
Now I'm going to complicate things. My CPU is rated at 1333MHz FSB. The Mobo is rated at 1600/1333/1066/800 MHz FSB. In the Bios the FSB is on "Auto" = 333MHz as shown in the pic below - "Bus Speed 333". When I try to change it the Bios tells me that only 200 to 800 MHz are valid numbers. Why This? How can I get the FSB up to 1333MHz when the Bios only allows up to 800MHz? The CPU and Mobo both support 1333MHz. Thanks for any help you can give me.
