Hello guys,

Just got my system up and going

e6300 / gigabyte ds3.

Could anyone confirm the temps on their northbridge?
Mine is roasting to the touch, cant even put it on for a sec. The temp in the bios for mch (g) sits at 50 fully idle and after I installed windows updates/mobo drivers etc for about 30 mins on restart it was at 80! Whats it gonna be like in games? This is with the side off the pc off and u can feel the heat from the heatsink a fair bit away.

The cpu idles around the med 30's and has maxed at mid 40's

Surely this isn't right? (the n/b)

Martin.

Whats the air flow like in your case?

The NB does get quite hot. As I use water cooling there is very little air flow through the case so I've got an 80mm fan resting on the GFX card blowing onto the NB & RAM. Never checked the temps in the BIOS before using the fan, only my finger  & it was HOT. Now idle is about 43, load about 52

I've got the super lan boy and nothing but the supplied fans and the freezer 64 cooler. The smart fan was sitting at 500 rpm but when I disable it and it defaults to 2k it seems to 'Leak' some air from the cpu fan over the NB and cool it.

max its been sicne is 65 - still seems hot.

Mine is too hot to touch even at stock, god knows what its like with my oc! :D I keep meaning to fit a 40mm fan, although I'm changing to a different case soon, so I'll do it then.
