why does he even bother getting onto threats

he could just publicly say that NK are inconsquential and not worth bothering with

if you enter into this threatening dialogue you end up playing their game

if you just call them what they are, a nothing nation that offer nothing to the rest of the world...you dont have to escalate things

now all the NK press broadcast to their nation that the US is threatening war...if he wasnt so thin skinned or worried about what people think of him, he wouldnt have felt the need to raise the stakes

sat round that table with the cameras he could have just shrugged his shoulders and said screw them , they are nothing (what you do in private may be different, but play your own game in public)

Well the difference ought to be obvious. Korea has long range and possibly intercontinental missiles which are easy to hide in their thousands of miles of bunkers and tunnels. Saddam had SCUD, which the US were able to track to a reasonable degree.

The argument that the Iraq war was about oil is so utterly debunked and stupid that I cannot believe people still parrot it.

I don't think the American people want a war. However, if it came down to it NK would be wiped out and NK know that. China, their only semi ally have recently distanced themselves from NK. NK are isolated globally.
 
As much as it's fairly scary to have two mouth-breathing man-childs pointing nukes at each other, I just can't see any outcome where KJU wins here. What is he realistically going to achieve by attacking the US (in whatever form)? :confused: Although presumably his citizens don't have much clue of what is going on in the outside world, he probably does, and realises that he is hopelessly outgunned. He can't surely be aiming to invade anywhere and takeover additional territories can he? What does he think he can achieve? Therefore everyone should just chill the fudge out. It's way better for KJU to keep talking big to impress the brainwashed citizens of NK. If he actually does anything then he'll be shown up spectacularly. As usual, it's Trump's mouth that's the problem.

America will not attack NK because they don't see NK as a viable threat. If NK tries to invaded it's neighbours then that might initiate a US response. A more potent threat to world peace is the India/Pakistan stand off. Both have nukes and are far more likely to use them than NK.
